Re: Dunninger at work!
Seeing Dunninger perform like this really drives home how much of an influence he had on Kreskin's work; particularly his TV show. The format seemed almost identical. From the opening sequence, to the audience reading (Q&A), to the rest of the program. Each segment seems to be the formula Kreski...

Re: Insane ACAN method
When I was a younger barefoot boy than I am now, I thought I'd be clever and present a trick as an ACAAN. I was (and indeed still am) a huge fan of Corinda's 13 Steps. In it there is an effect called Photo-Memory by Hans Trixer. It is basically a pseudo-memory trick with a deck of cards. But when I ...

Re: Insane ACAN method
Funny story: There is a local magician here in the Toronto area (James F.) who has created somewhat of a reputation for himself. This magician knows that if I am ever asked to think of or name a card, I always pick the Jack of Clubs because it is my favourite. James has filed this information in his...

Re: Bending Single Card For Glimpse
I vaguely recall watching Jon Tremaine using something similar. As part of a parlour-type show I believe he riffled down the corner of a face down deck in his hands and asked someone across the room to stop. He then lifted all the cards cleanly above the break with his thumb at one end and his finge...

Christmas Magic
I meant to post this before the holidays but better late than never. Here is my presentation for the pencil thru bill effect with a holiday theme I created. This was my part in a virtual fundraiser show just before Christmas. Thought you might like to see it.

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen. Hope The Professor is smiling down at me.
Cracking open the Vernon Touch (and reading it from cover to cover AGAIN) has kept me well entertained during lockdown. It is one of my favourite books on my shelf.

I'm on a serious Vernon kick at the moment. This happens to me every so often. I get an itching to re-explore the thinking of the Professor.

Dove Pan Card Tricks
Hey guys. There are tricks which I call "the dove pans of magic". These are effects that appear so transparent, that to try to pull them off with a straight face would be impossible. Paul Green's "Odds Against Me" (sometimes called 'Option Call') and Daryl's "Untouched"...

Re: Annemann
I have always thought that C.O.Williams was the inventor of this effect. But apparently he came up with it in 1937. I'd be interested to find out the answer to this as well.

Re: Kreskin and Al Capone
Hi Steve. The chances are that Kreskin will use the power of suggestion to cause people to "see" Al Capone. If you go to the show expecting to see a ghost walk or other dramatic spirit manifestations you will probably be disappointed. I am in no way belittling Kreskin's performance (nor do...

Re: nail roulette performed with an egg?
Years ago in an old Genii magazine I remember reading that Jonathan Pendragon wrote up a routine with an egg under an inverted paper cup. In turn, each cup was smashed leaving the egg under the last remaining cup unharmed. I will try to hunt down the exact copy and post the month and year here if I ...
