Re: Is Magic Getting Boring (or is it me)
I personally agree w/the 'sabbatical' approach mentioned. Stoke the mind w/some distractions...absence makes heart grow fonder, etc. For me, I was bored and jaded for a long time....then I happened to attend the Lance Burton show at the old Hacienda in Vegas...and that dancer he grabbed, when she di...

Nice review of Dennis Watkins' parlor show-Chicago Palmer House
Chicago Tribune theater review
Dennis Watkins, a Chicago based magician, gets a great review of his new parlor show.
He's also starring in the "Death and Harry Houdini" play currently running. Busy guy.

Nice article in today's Trib that delves into Chicago's history as a hub of magic activity, and a dying breed of restaurant magicians.

Re: Photo Essay About Ray Goulet
Very cool. Love the Houdini Punch Bowl gift from his assistants. And I don't think I've ever seen a lineup/arrangement of wands like he has.
Interesting in photos, but I'd like to get a smell of the place in person. Good quality magic shops have a certain smell.

Brain damaged man-magician
Story in today's Chicago Tribune caught my eye. Guy w/brain damage basically since birth has discovered performing magic is his best way of coming out of his isolation. Fascinating.

Steve Jobs - quote on creativity
Icon and visionary. On creativity: Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didnt really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. Thats because they were able to connect experienc...

Amazing card stuff...i agree 'twas a little fast, but he probably had to fit a large routine into a short time window. But dang..signed card in sealed card box...in the spectator's hand...amazing. Kudos to Farquhar.

Re: Ding, Dang, the Tricks are Read
Would appreciate if you could ding one up for me....bump into side of the box, whack it w/a 2x4, drop a casserole on it...doesn't matter. Just enough to ding a cover or two. Heck..you can even tear out an end page if you feel the need. You go ahead and ding away, Mr Regal....the world is waiting.
