Re: Magicians Week on Letterman

Agreed, Dustin. I was commenting more on the poor taste and shortsightedness of Cirque.

Any gig where you can leave for work at 12:15-ish, be home by 5:00PM if traffic is with you, and make a zillion dollars yearly is a gig to hang onto!

Re: Magicians Week on Letterman

Mac's set was a sterling example of how terrific magic on TV can be without any enhancement in post, super-restrictive camera angles, or stooges.

And Criss Angel gets the mega-Cirque show? Bah!

David's hair was dry after they came back from commercial. Clearly, they took a break after the stunt for him to get made-up for the interview segment. It's TV. That's what they do. It's no indication of fraud.

I really enjoyed the whole thing. It wasdevoid of the bombast that usually accompanies a Blaine endurance event. And you have to admire the guy's dedication to training and preparation. It's hard to see how he could have made any money off of this particular stunt, so why does he do it? Simply becau...

Re: Just How Bad is Criss Angel's Press?

I'd venture to guess that, while Criss "can't be replaced" per the contract, there's a sunset provision for that particular clause if he quits by his own volition. Cirque would be idiots if there isn't. Failing that, I'm sure they've already figured out ways to alter the show with existing...
