Richard, this trick looks great! Can you recommend a safe place in the U.S. to purchase one from?
Thanks,

Anyone seen Unspeakable Acts (book :) )
There's a new book out, Unspeakable Acts , about Tony Andruzzi. I'm wondering if this is a book of previously unpublished material, or if a large part of it is reprinted from other books. Has anyone here read it yet?
Thanks,
Robert

Wise words indeed Brad. I too am a skeptic. I'm more likely to believe in a case like this that the testers could detect after images on the screen, or hear disk acess clicking differently, or simply a bad random number generator was used. But, since it doesn't hurt me one way or another, I keep an ...

Yes, and gov't research into exactly the kind of experiment Daryl Bem describes was funded by a gov't agency at least through the 1980's.

I find it strange that neither the article nor people here know that Daryl Bem is a longtime amateur mentalist/magician. He was a member of the SAM group in Palo Alto CA back in the 1970's. This is the same group and time frame that had as other members Roger Pierre, Ormond McGill, and Byron Walker,...

That was too far in the distant past to remember. I DO however recall the first magic book I saw. It was by Ian Adair and was in the library. As a young boy I, as many of us were, was introduced to magic by a magic set. No doubt I browbeat my dad to get me the largest set at the store, probably an Adams kit. Mostly junk. My introduction to magic was when I tried using the "vanisher", which you would all now recognise as a black ...

What a coincidence, I just watched this last night. It's one of the press-on-demand DVD-R's you can order from Warner Bros now. Yes and let's not forget that Senator Ted Kennedy ended up on the no fly list. The many possible jokes aside, that did not exactly give one confidence in the validity or utility of said list. Back in either 1985 or 1987 (I forget which) a group based around the terrorist Abu Nidal blew up the TWA te...

Ok, my tendency for jokes aside; the terrorists won. America, and the American gov't, live in fear. That said, though I haven't pondered this much, given the existance of underwear bombs, I can sort of see why this latest search is necessary. Probably a lot more necessary than other things the TSA h...

Richard, If you need a different Max you can go read his reasoned response to the guy over in the magic castle thread who suggested that we should just film performers w/out permission and see how it goes ;) It was one of the most droll yet biting responses I've seen in years. I've occasionally entertained a theory I call the Conservation of Magic theorem: new generations acrete old magic, and that generation has to get old(er) before they start to liquidate their collections :)

"And in the worst case, you can just aim your video camera at the screen and press record. I just tried it and it looks great."
Or reroute your computers video to HDMI out and run it right into a device. I forget if HDMI supports DRM. if it does, use VGA and audio out jacks.

All data comes into a computer over the network. Since the client is fully controlled by the would-be pirate, any software up to and including the OS can be hacked. The packets can also be intercepted on the recieving LAN side. The only question then is a) is it encoded and if so, how hard is that t...
