Re: For all you metal benders
In January, on the German incarnation of Phenomenon, Uri Geller performed something very similar. Using his thumb, he pushed on the outer bowl of a spoon and caused it to dimple significantly inward. The force required was ostensibly great enough, that his thumbprint was even 'melted' or 'pressed' i...

To augment Ford's excellent review, here are a couple direct answers to your questions. 1) is it easy? Mechanically speaking yes, but depending on your choice of presentation, will require varying levels of audience management skill. 2) Are the backs similar to the bycicle ryder pack. Very similar. ...

Rayeden,
Take a serious look at Rand Woodbury's Illusionworks video Vol. 1 "Steps and Bases". Step by step instruction for a great set of steps (and a nice base). Be sure to pick up Vol. 3 "Tricks of the Trade", as an important informational compliment.

Of course, with some handling considerations, one could simply use a Farmarx (or Lesley) Deck and ask whatever questions you would like.
It would make for a nice "magician killer" for those in the know, not to mention a great piece in the real world.

Let me openly backpedal for a moment... I have absolutely no doubt that a dedicated actor can and indeed does perform magic extremely well when their role requires it. Misled is indeed a wonderful effect, but one that requires a good deal of work to "master". A non-magician actor may not want to put in the time required to perform proficiently.
