Tricks in Card Craft
Good Morning! I recently purchased Card Craft. However, despite the fact that magic is a hobby that I am passionate of, I don't want to invest any time in going through the material. Please spare me the burden of mining good material and tell me what you found worthwhile in the book. Thank you in ad...

I've seen the development of the routine over my visits to Midwest Magic. And can attest that it is clever, concise, and within range of the intermediate card worker.

Re: Collins and the "Invisible Deck"
I will reread the text later today just to make sure. But Collins doesn't provide a year. From what I've read so far, Collins does provide some credits fairly casually, (i.e., a reference to a name but not the book) and then Fleming provided specific citations.

Collins and the "Invisible Deck"
I was reading "A Conjuring Melange" on the train this morning, and it appears that Stanley Collins claims credit for the invention of the "Invisible Deck." He doesn't call it that, referring to the deck as "a variation of the Brain Wave Deck". Does he really get the cre...

I managed to pick up a copy of C. Lang Neil's long out of print book. And it has been a lot of fun to go through.
What was the original publication date for this book?

Re: Discussing a Disgusting Habit—Cigarettes and Magic
I agree that there is quite a bit of cigarette magic that will simply be unable to be performed (at least in growing portions of the US). And regretfully, there just aren't many substitutes that seem to be able to compare, particularly with lit cigarettes. But there is a whole litany of effects that...

If that is the case, why not just do a block pushoff instead? There may not be a need to secure a break under the bottom card.

Not sure what Daryl's technique is, but I use a pulldown technique of Larry Jennings where the middle section between the joints of the pinky is used to secure a break.
I can't remember where I read the specific handling but I think it was in "The Classic Magic of Larry Jennings"

The subject says it all :) The first of these is a semi recent one where Hiroshi Sawa's magic was described. I think Juan Tamariz was on the cover...is this the correct one? I have some cups (copper) that were sitting in a cabinet that I would like to remove the tarnish off of. Is there a good/proper way to go about doing this? I'd hate to do something like in the "Antiques Roadshow" where I cleaned it improperly or removed a finish and my item isn't worth as ...

There was a faro manuscript that Alex Elmsley and someone else had collaborated on (I can't remember the other guy's name, but the story I'm citing is from one of the Elmsley books). Harold--
Thanks for the follow up reference. I forgot that "The Book of John" has a 3 ring routine; and both the Marlo routine and Mendoza routine are supposed to be related to the Dietrich routine (whether or not it is in print). I'll have to compare the two.

The actual routine I have a question on is written up in "Arcade Dreams". I practiced the routine with rings in hand yesterday, and I can't figure out why you would need the oversized ring. It seems like the routine would work fine with 3 rings of the same size. Did I miss something in the...
