I liked the interview. She said loud and clear she liked one magician. That's enough for me to believe she doesn't hate magicians or magic. I interpreted the rest of what she said as half serious and half humor. This was also the first time I heard Jay Leno say he likes magicians. Overall I found th...

I realize you are just looking for a presentational idea but I got carried away so don't take these seriously. 1. Assuming you are performing on stage, Offer a gift basket of fruit as compensation for the lost money. Tell the audience it's a real bargain and ask a volunteer to pick on piece of fruit...

You have a lot of courage to consider a convention. I would have been happy with a commemorative plate.
If you do it, I will try to attend.

Which video of Slydini doing the coins through table did you watch? I had read his routine in Best of Slydini and More before I saw him perform it. You're right about the action itself. It doesn't look natural. But when I watched him perform the routine in person it was great. It was like seeing his...

Magic and Science article needs to reevaluate an argument
I have no opinion on whether investigating the science of magic is misguided, but Peter Lamont's assertion: "psychologists researching change blindeness have focused on how a significant change in the scene is not noticed from one moment to the next, whereas magicians are primarily concerned wi...

I agree with Richard's assessment.
Other convention turnoffs:
Contests with too many contestants.
Shows with too many performers

I was performing Las Vegas Leaper in a restaurant for a couple of ladies. At the end the count was one card short. I thought I just loaded one card too few. Later that evening the ladies confronted me and asked if I did it on purpose. The card stuck to my volunteer's butt. They were okay once I assu...

Pete,
I've never used a marked deck, but I've had people examine the deck exactly like Richard described on many occasions. The funny thing is I didn't know what they were looking for until I saw Richard's post.

Nice job 3ialwi. Michael Weber once told me he thinks it's better with just two hops as well. You have a good idea Matt when you make the first rise go near the top. If you do the trick with two hops, I think that clarifies the effect. I'm glad you guys like the trick. Ray "three hop" Kosby

Re: Magic on the Moon
I watched a FOX special on the Moon Landing being a myth in 2001. I didn't even know people believed this until that special. One of their "proofs" was a moon photo where the plus signs on the lens were supposedly behind the image instead of in front of it. I downloaded the photo from seve...
