Re: BoM: Milo & Roger by Arthur Brandon
My next-to-favorite magic book (my favorite magic book was mentioned by P.T. Murphy above), Milo & Roger has the distinction of containing my favorite magic quote of all time: "My father put it very succinctly, one time, after he learned how I kept pouring so much water out of Don Hole's li...

Re: Slippery Golf Balls, help please
One technique the "old-timers" used was to put the second coat of paint on while the first coat was still tacky. The second coat dries, but the first coat continues to "leach through" making for a slightly tacky ball that would not transfer pigment. Another technique is to stir c...

I should have this mentioned before, but the idea of the coin through hat also appears in this work. I have added the text to the PDF, but the images appear in the original PDF I uploaded. Look at illustration 2 on the plate. This book has a great deal of very commercial material (from the era), I w...

Reverse text (i.e. white text on black background) will also appear smaller than the same size text set black on white. For this reason, most designers set reversed text at least one point size larger in order to compensate... Don't believe they do this at Genii (although I would certainly recommend...

Likening a magical experience to a gratifying sexual experience may be true only in some circumstances, but the cognitive meltdown that occurs in both (by way of different catalysts) leaves...
