Ambitious Classic

I’ve been revisiting this effect for the last few months, looking at the original in Classic Magic of LJ, and the revised version in LJ takes it easy, as well as shoot offs therefrom. However, about 2 or 3 weeks ago, I think I read about a newly published variation with particular attention to the f...

Re: Card Warp (not the trick)

The problem in the winter is lack of humidity. I have two stand alone humidifiers, one in my music room for my acoustic guitars, and one in my magic room for cards and overall comfort. I try to keep the humidity between 45% and 50%. Even a popping deck can be revived if spread out widely in a humidi...

That’s done very well. It’s not easy to get the spots to line up without discernible movement.

Ben was a great builder and an even greater human being. He and his wife Del were two of my very favorite people.

I have loved this gag for a long time so I ordered this because, like Erdnase, Farmer probably needs the money. Ha! Seriously though, this product beats amputating doll hands. More importantly, it represents how magic crediting should be done. Credit is given on the box as well as in the video, I’m ...

I remember Bill doing a lecture in St. Louis in the late 1970s and it was one of the best. I still do the two “palm changes”. It’s one of the upper tier lectures that taught something I still do.

Anyway, we watched this together and discussed in detail many aspects ...

Assuming Forte is correct that Erdnase wasn't a professional gambler but a magician, this to me is the most compelling reason why he didn't use his real name. His peers would have called him out as a fraud.

I would so appreciate some guidance on this. I'm wanting to learn a card routine whereby the spectator, for example, holds two black queens between thumb and forefinger and the magician asks whether, for example, the Queen of clubs or spades is on top, and after byplay and pretending to switch cards...

I'm trying to find the source for the card revelation on fan where you fan half the deck in the right hand and the top card of the left hand packet is propelled by the first finger onto the fan in the right hand so it does a 180 to land face up on the right hand fan. Who is this credited to? Many th...

Len O. Gunn was the first magician to perform magic on TV. Len was a friend of the Houdini's and was one of two honor guards at the last Houdini seance. Ben Stone [Delben] made the Delben Domino which was [and is] a great prop I have used in many CLE presentations over the years because of the "loophole" finish. If you have one, you know what I mean. If you don't, one of the dots becomes a hole in the domino at the end. There is always a &...
