Re: Favorite Trick that uses the Elmsley Count

Vernon's Varient page 225 Ultimate Card Secrets.
First published in Genii sometime in the 60's.
There is a good variation in Apocalype that takes the heat off the spectator.

Re: Johnny Brown/Texas

Johnny's two books are
"Isn't That Good!" (1974) and "Go Ahead I'll Wait" 91975)

Both were written by Father Al Bandy
He also published a pamphlet on The Comedy Cut and Restored Necktie

There is some video of Johnny lecturing and performing, but nothing commercial.

Re: Johnny Brown/Texas

A great friend and all round nice guy. I first meet Johnny in 1963 as a youngster at his first TAOM. Over the years we became good friends. When he lived here in Irving we probably met at least once a week. I told Johnny once that I figured out the secret to his magic. He had such a good time perfor...

The Little Moonies

As I was reading Fulves' book on Bob Hummer I was reminded of the "Little Moonies" trick I bought at Dallas Magicland many years ago.

I am looking for a picture of the face of one of the cards and does anyone still sell this trick?

Thanks in advance,

Hi, Pete.
Didn't have any contact info for you. Drop me a email and I'll let you now about next year.

Jeremy, I suppose that the magazines that report on all the different conventions are just to rub in the fact we weren't there too. Talk to DeCamps, maybe he'll invite you.

The Buoyant Ball

Last weekend at the Dallas Super Session I got to see Roger Klause perform an excellent trick. A steel ball bearing was passed around and the dropped into a glass of water where it promptly sank to the bottom of the glass. He then fished it out, dried it off and carefully placed it on the surface of...

It might be nice if the publishers of ebooks would factor out the printing and distribution costs when they price them. They could also follow Mike Close's example and embed videos of the moves and effects. Closely Guarded Secrets is the best use of the ebook format so far and well worth the money. ...

Brad, The cuts are set at 1/32 of an inch taper. While I would love to have an adjustable cutter, this one works fine for what it intended for, in my case, a hobbiest who wants to experiment. Anyway, I like mine and have enjoyed playing with it.

Mr. Matney do you have any effects published in any of the magic magazines(like maybe Genii) so that I can get an idea if I like the type of effects you write. I've known Bob more years than either of us want to count. Bob has taken Vernon's advice to be natural as a guiding principle of his magic and spent 30 years working on it. I've been to both Dallas lectures and would come to this one if I could. Don't miss out on this.
