Re: The Little Hand Ripoff

Dave has stepped up and done the right thing and Michael Ammar and I will now allow the continued sale of the little hand. I will be in touch with Dave for the details. And yes, Ian Kendall has been most helpful in all of this as a mediator not taking sides.

It's amazing that the guy shows absolutely no reason to stop ripping Michael Ammar and me off. It's sad that creative people have to suffer at the hands (big and little) of those who are not, and will never be.

The Little Hand Ripoff

Several decades ago, around the very early 1980s or late 1970s, I invented what has become known as, “The Little Hand.” It’s been made famous in recent years by Michael Ammar, who has an exclusive written license from me to sell it as a standalone magic trick. The only other licensee, is the Hanky P...

The Hendrix was great-- What really annoyed me about that video was the use of the Hamman count (or should I say, the attempted use of the Hamman Count). I specifically designed the trick so it would not be used--as a matter of fact, I invented the routine while trying to work out a Gypsy Curse meth...

This is so awful I couldn't watch it all the way through. That's so depressing. I spend a lot of time perfecting an effect and method and then to see it absolutely ruined makes me ill. It's like listening to Lawrence Welk playing Jimi Hendrix. Perhaps I'll shoot a video and send it to Richard and he...

I've always thought those off the top switches looked weird. My version is much more flexible than most and allows for all kinds of switching. A small portion of the manuscript can be found in Harry Lorayne's BEST OF FRIENDS II, see: The Packet Transfer (PAT) Switch at pp. 415-433.

I've tried all kinds of inks and pens, including the ink mentioned. The problem with the pens is that at certain angles the color vanishes and you see a blackish color. The problem with the inks is the application. I finally decided to go with one color--white, which doesn't have the color change pr...

I believe that for customs tax reasons, the uncut sheets of cards were printed in Ohio, then shipped to Windsor where they were cut into decks and packaged. The tax would have been higher if the completed decks had been shipped into Canada.

I wish the new owner well and hope he is very successful---opening a B & M magic shop in this day and age (or any day and age) takes a lot of guts. Especially in Vegas. Too many magic shops there. I couldn't believe it when I saw two competing magic shops doors away from each other. I asked the...

Yes, the demo needs work. The performer might well read the Classic Secrets of Magic by Bruce Elliott to get the Benson one-ball vanish right. The best one-cup routine for me has always been by Ottawa's Roy Cottee. I think I published it in Genii. Any cup. The ending produces two large spheres of de...

I'm working on a new trick with a skull and some discs from an old hard drive but I need a gimmick that my pathetic manufacturing abilities cannot create.
