I wouldn't work too hard looking, foggy memory at best. I did a search of Genii from 80-81 and no mention.

Re: Frank Garcia on Dick Cavett

Seems to me that there was a mention of the Phantom in some magic column. I was thinking maybe Frank's column in Tannen's Magic Manuscript, but the show aired in 1980 and the Manuscript didn't start until 81. So possibly Genii?

Re: Frank Garcia on Dick Cavett

Thanks a lot for that Max, I remember the show. Man, it was a long time ago, but I was asking Frank about the Phantom and he said that he told him being on the show wasn't a great idea, but he insisted. The day after the show he was beaten by some of the other operators and at some point after that ...

I agree with Richard, wish he'd reprint the hardbound, but if he does he said it's not in the foreseeable future... The paperback, like the hardbound has enhanced photos and he said he's added some things. I'll have to look for one of Meir's hardbounds used I guess.

Just received an email from Meir Yedid, he reprinted, in paperback the Stars of Magic book. He said he's changed it up a little from his hardbound edition.

You might want to get a feel for the session first. If it looks like a show and tell, maybe not participate and just be an onlooker. You could just have a disclaimer before you start that you're performing items from books.

The price of the Bertram cups went way up due to an eBay auction where 3 people decided they wanted Bertram cups a number of years ago. That auction closed at something like $2200. Pete Biro put his up and got $1500, so figuring there were 3 people I put my set up for $1700 and they were gone in an ...

Steve, I think I know what you ordered and agree. Multiple videos, that weren't all that easy to access in the first place. It might have taken me a couple tries to be able to watch them, it almost seemed like they were filmed that way for a DVD.

Bill, I was meaning Don's performance. If he pulled out a pocket knife and opened it, and then stabbed the bag, that would be nowhere as dramatic and interesting as him using a switchblade. I've always maintained that nobody should undertake any faro work for any reason whatsoever that requires a specific interlace of the cards if they can't do it perfectly 100% of the time. Pulling the halves apart to re-try for a desired interlace is as good as saying "oh - excuse me, I have to...

Some pretty high prices. I contacted a couple of sellers about a collectors edition of vol 4, which at one time was drawing reasonable money, but most said they have collectors editions (singles) that won't move at $200. Check with some of the book sellers, you can probably put a set together.
