I highly recommend Mark Elsdon's (ebook and/or printed booklet) Hidden Gems.
He lists over 100 gems of magic that are largely unknown and where to find them.

Re: Looking for good lecturers

A number of magic clubs I've lectured for in the U.K. have told me their members are sick of card tricks, and it has been proposed at their A.G.M's to stop booking 'card' lecturers. Obviously, there are exceptions, but to aspiring lecturers, please note that you are more likely to get booked with th...

To my knowledge credit goes to the late Eddie Gibson who developed the manufacturing technique, and, as far as I know, made them all. A few years ago he made up some for me with Irish pennies. I'll have to check but I think the original presentation that came with the instructions was by Joe Riding....

For me, "The Magic Bullet" aka the Gun Trick by Ken Krenzel. In Arial Frailich's book Card Stories , his routine, The Gunslinger , makes a great follow on to The Gun Trick (Peter Kane should be added to the credits for the latter). Incidentally, the routine I performed for the lady at The...

I was hanging around the magic castle one day with a date. I bumped into Goshman. He did his famous sponge balls for my date. When Albert walked away, my date looked up at me with eyes rolling and said, "He just put both in my hand at the same time." I know that's not popular to say but t...

Instead go to any of the recent issues and then on the vertical bar on the right of the webpage, click "Issues" and a link will show for either GENII or MAGIC.

A beginners guide to the Blackpool Magic Convention

***A beginners guide to the Blackpool Magic Convention*** It’s nearly that time of year again! Once Christmas and New Year are over and done with, magicians start their own countdown. They countdown to a weekend in February, to visit a seaside town in the UK, whilst it’s freezing cold. But, the thin...
