Jay Marshall in Entertainment Weekly
On page 104 of the December 30-January 6th "year end double issue" of Entertainment Weekly, our beloved Mr. Marshall is acknowledged as a master magician and among the great entertainers to pass away in 2005. Its only a one line mention but mentioned nonetheless. Just thought I would let e...

Magic Book
I am looking for a book that was released a few years ago for the general public. I believe it was entitled "the Magic Book" or "the magic Show". The author was/is Mark Settaducatti (or something similar - please forgive the possible misspelling) and I believe Sue Miller. Any inf...

I am also looking for some sort of magic effect that can be included in a holiday card. Not something that can be given away (like fortune telling fish) but rather actually built into the card. One of my thoughts was the classic baby gag (obviously redesigned and re-illustrated to suit the card) Can...

Thanks again everyone

I am looking to create a 3 ring routine. Can anyone give me references. I am familiar with some of the classics with more than 3 rings, but I really like the simplicity of 3. Any help is appreciated.

I applaud THEM for their visionary approach to the art. We complain about perception, David Acer eloquently writes about it, we experience it everytime someone discovers what we do. How many times have you heard "Your a magician? Can you perform for my 5 year old's birthday party?" What we...

I am selling my virtual sound man audio system. For those not familiar, this unit is designed to run the audio for your show. Re: Strolling ... vs... Stationary
I am curious about the idea of being stationary as opposed to strolling. One of the advantages to strolling is the fact that one's material can be repeated several times throughout the event, each time for a different group. Thusly allowing the performer to carry his/her props on their person. If on...

Attention Dave & Busters Magicians
I am a performer at the D&B here in Denver and have just suffered the results of our difficult economic times. After 5 1/2 years I have been laid off. I'm told that its due to the lowest sales ever and it's a corporate mandate. I'm curious if anyone else has suffered the same blow to their deck....

Re: Card in Sock
Jason,
I personally used the card in sock for a close up contest several years ago. It got a killer reaction! I would definately recommend the trick, however in a restaurant it may be a bit cumbersome. You will have to have some tailoring done as well. Just my two cents. All the best. Peace

I just picked up mr Tivoli's card in box and I think its a wonderful idea. I'm surprised no on has thought of it sooner. Way to go Arthur. Great comments Zech, I too came to the point where I questioned why I was doing exactly what was doing. In other words was the card coming to the top because of magic or because of my technical skill. I felt that by presenting the routine as a result of skill, it became a show of "look what I c...

At the end of my ambitious sequence, I produce the signed card folded under my watch. It's easily as powerful as the wallet and I can do it any time (assuming I'm wearing my watch). I've also played around with loading it under a spectators watch.
