Re: Eric DeCamps Pure Magic Comes to Chicago
Eric's show is great, because Eric is great. It's classic magic done in classic style, pristine and amazing, and he definitely shouldn't be missed.
Congratulations, Eric and all, on this next step of the journey!

Re: Bill in lemon
One take on it is that you don't need a justification. When we do what we do, it's often important to justify or provide motivation for actions, but we don't have to justify effects . The effect is impossible, and that's all the implicit justification it needs. To try to lend logic to an impossibili...

And for those following this kind of thing in general, the DVD also has Brad Henderson performing and then teaching a very nice handling for Alex Elmsley's "Separating the Men from the Boys."

Richard Kaufman wrote:In relative terms, it is indeed "simple." Much easier than learning a proper Double Lift, for example.
Well, since the difficulty of either goes beyond the actual mechanics of the moves themselves, I find them both about equally challenging.
But that's neither here nor there. ;)

Re: Favourite Pass/card control
Lance, if I understand what is being referred to as the Bluff Bluff Pass correctly, then you mean simply pretending to lift off the upper half of the deck, having a card replaced, and then plopping your empty hand down on top as if having replaced the top half. Correct? If so, it's hard to believe ...

Re: Favourite Pass/card control
I agree that if you're trying to impress someone with your pass , then you should probably just learn to do a pass (unless your method to simulate one is pretty devious). On the other hand, if you're trying to secretly control a card to the top of the deck, the Bluff Bluff Pass is, in many circumsta...

Re: Bob Stencel Passes...
Bob Stencel's favorite magician -- and favorite person except for his wife -- in the whole world was Bill Malone. Bill and I had dinner with Irene last night and only then through conversation became aware of her financial situation. She didn't ask for anything, but if anyone is considering a charit...

Re: THE BEST EXECUTER OF THE TWO HANDED SHIFT
To me, however (and you should know that this opinion is not universally held by any means), if you are literally grabbing the lower half of the deck with one hand and secretly placing it on top, you are essentially doing a Side Steal. As a small point, in the Free Turn Pass, the lower half isn't s...
