What seems to hit a nerve is your overly simple definition of a lame trick from a magician viewpoint. Could this include the dancing cane - obvious method if poorly performed and also done by so many? I believe you agree that the dancing cane properly performed can be magic beyond belief. Enjoy

Re: How many books/DVDs do you own
You seem to be hung up on "better and more advanced" card tricks. The simple answer is read more advanced books and dvds. My impression is you already know a lot of better and more advanced tricks. Triumph is a very good trick. Perhaps it is not the trick but the method, execution or prese...

Re: How many books/DVDs do you own
Regarding your first question on why learn different sleights - yes, different techniques can be used that may lead to the same outcome, but your execution may be better depending on the sleights chosen. Perhaps your push through or Zarrow needs more refinement in execution. There are many resources...

I thought the execution of the card technique was good, but that is not much of a trick. Showing the new deck order at the start screams to look for false cuts and shuffles unless that is your intent, then you might as well name each technique (up the river cut, Erdnase fancy blind triple cut, etc)a...
