Re: An Honest Liar now on Netflix

I watched it too the other night and know I'll be watching again. It's quite a film.

If you just have a Netflix DVD subscription the DVD's availability is "unknown," but it's available for viewing online right now. I have a Roku and watch Netflix that way on my TV.

There is an entire chapter on Henry "Box" Brown in Jim Magus' "Magical Heroes: The Lives and Legends of Great African American Magicians."

You're probably aware of this, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to mention it.

Good luck with your hunt.

Mr. Palmer, I'm glad your work included the Collectors' Weekend in Chicago. A few very choice items from Bill Palmer's marvelous cups and balls collection were on display in the dealers' room, along with Mr. Palmer who imparted some great insights into the items. He also delivered an excellent talk....

The print issue arrived in Wichita yesterday. I was delighted to see Dr. Edwin Dawes on the cover, and immediately read the whole piece. (Well, I took my coat off first). Kudos to Clay Shevlin for an excellent interview, and Ricky Jay for the introduction. A fine tribute to a very inspirational man.

I purchased Classic Correspondance at the recent Yankee Gathering from Mike, and I was immediately impressed by how beautifully it is produced. An elegant volume. And, of course, the contents more than live up to the presentation.

Mike Caveney's labors of love are much appreciated.

No, I would not press the play button. As Mr. Kaufman states, that would be supporting theft. So morally it's the wrong thing to do. As a purely pragmatic decision, if I encourage theft, I discourage creators from releasing more of their creations in the future. Seems like it would be a pretty stupi...
