Re: ERDNASE

Scott -- I appreciate your evenhanded response to questions. Just a note -- on your slide entitled "French Lick Springs Hotel" , your last bullet refers to "Steele, the mother of Louis Dalrymple". Everything I've ever seen on the subject says that his mother's name was Adelia See...

Just ran across this. I knew he had been caught up in the blacklist -- it will be interesting to see what the details of that were.

Persi Diaconis and Alan Alan are listed in the acknowledgements, so it presumably spends some time on his magic interests.

Adam Gopnik

Some 10 years ago, Adam Gopnik wrote a well-received (in the magic community, and elsewhere, I suppose) article in The New Yorker about magic and magicians. I believe his son is a magician, and that he himself practices at some level. He recently had another piece in that magazine, lamenting the tre...

Of course, maybe you should start going at religion in the same way you've been going at whatever this thread is about. Then Richard or Dustin will lock it. Might be for the best . . . .

A Christmas Carol

Neil Gaiman attended an LA Magic History Conference once, so this counts as a magic-related link (or at least, I say it does):

Neil Gaiman reads aloud "A Christmas Carol" (using Dickens' original prompt-book script, from which he performed many public readings).

Michael Finney was the subject of some similar complaints a couple of years ago, but that tempest passed on without any long-term repercussions (as far as I know). If that same show and spectator happened in Dec 2017, I'm not sure it would have turned out the same way.
