I could be wrong but the holes in a steel plate remind me of something I think I read in one of the Gibson books about all Houdini's escapes. An expose not a discussion. I can't find my copy right now.

Wow there are a lot of very shiny pretty items in the auction. It's amazing to see Ross Bertrams personal set of cups. Un bid on so far, perhaps because people desiring to use them can't really see using cups with "Ross Bertram" engraved on the outside of each cup. But soooooo beautiful an...

Messing with Google Street View I think there's a good possibility the magic store was at 6505 Sunset Blvd. Currently the location of Abe's Shoe Repair and Dry Cleaning. The building just before Wilcox on Sunset has been remodeled but retains enough of the original design that it's probably the Pack...

I would probably be less annoyed if they didn't bury the mention of the fee down in a .pdf you have to download, rather than mentioning it either in the "How to buy", or even "Terms and Conditions" sections.

Re: Potter & Potter Summer Auction

It's an interesting auction, but the big problem with Potter auctions is the massive auction house fee: +20% of the high bid. Then tax on top of the fee + bid. Then add shipping. There's a nice looking set of (allegedly) Danny Dew Paul fox chrome cups but the opening bid is $200. No bids yet but if ...
