Re: Three Stand-Out Stand-Up Routines (Sept 2012)
Schrodinger's Bottles is a great routine. I agree! I've seen two outstanding Multiplying Bottle routines over the years: Roger Benoit's inspired presentation that begins in a fairly straightforward way, but during the routine, he starts taking sips of the alcohol, and by the end, he's completely sm...

The September Magicana is a boon for stage performers, with three big routines filling the column: Neil Croswell's "Angry Birds Live," David Gabbay's "iProduction Box," and Master Payne's "Schrodinger's Bottles." Close-up workers might want to take pictures of the props...

Pertaining to Magicana 2011, it's interesting to note which tricks generate buzz when they're published versus those that enter (and exit?) quietly. I've had the pleasure of seeing most of this year's entries performed by their originators, and as a result, some of them stick out in my mind. For exa...

It's not a glaring omission, but maybe we should have cited Billy McComb's "McCombical Prediction" as precedent for Ed Oschmann's "Psychic Fail" (Genii, August 2011). The methods are different enough but the plots are certainly in the same family.
